I was abused Daily - Woman rescued from the Kwara State Rehabilitation Center

One of those rescued from the Kwara State Rehabilitation Center has recounted how she was Raped on daily basis

The young woman was identified as Olaide Arikewuyo, she made mention of spending five years in the center and said she was sexually abused by one of the head people daily

"I live with the owner of the center in his apartment and my uncle had a carnal knowledge of me every night. Since I have no one to turn to and it is not easy to get out of there, five men abused me. During this process, I became pregnant and had three abortions. I thank God that the police came to help me, "he said.

On Thursday, October 24, the Kwara State Police Command announced the discovery of the rehabilitation center, called Sumuratu Mumeen Arab Center, located in the Gaa-Odota region of Ilorin. State Police Commissioner Kayode Egbetokun said the command was acting as intelligence surveillance and raided the center where 103 men and five women illegally detained in the center were found. .

"It was observed that some of the victims had some form of infection and illness and had not been treated, while others had mental illness. Some of them said during the interview that they had been taken to the center by their parents, "said the PC.

He added that the investigation was ongoing and that the police command would take care of the victims until their parents came to pick them up. One of the victims, Waliyu Ali, said that his parents brought him there because he was addicted to hemp. He added that his parents thought the place was a rehabilitation center and that he would stop smoking hemp after spending a few months there.

Abdulazeez Korede, another victim, said, "My parents brought me here because I am addicted and they want to stop me from taking hard drugs. But to my surprise, they chained me and beat me mercilessly and took me underground, where other guys like me were kept when my parents left. They kept me in a dungeon for four months without sunlight, window or food. "
