Gabonese president Ali Bongo, victim of a stroke, asks supporters to vote again
Gabonese President Bongo made a surprise appearance yesterday in public, where he addressed his supporters.
Bongo suffered a stroke in October 2018 and has been seen many times since.
His chief of staff, Brice Laccruche Alihanga, urged his supporters to vote for him in 2023.
In 2023, President Ali Bongo, who suffered a brain attack, campaigned asking the crowd to vote for him on behalf of the president.
He has been managing since 2009 after succeeding his father, Omar Bongo was president of Gabon for 42 years (1967-2009).
This provoked some reactions as people wondered who had bewitched Africa.
