Ethiopian Airlines resumes flights to Somalia
The carrier suspended its operations to Somalia after the outbreak of hostilities between the two countries four decades ago.
There have been positive changes within the Horn of Africa, where nations are keen to restore long-term ties.
In June, Ethiopian airlines resumed flying to the capital of Asmara, after a two-decade hiatus when the two nations came together.
A number of airlines have expressed interest in flying to Somalia.
Kenya Airways low cost subsidiary Jambojet is among airlines that have also shown interest in establishing a route to Somalia.
Somalia is largely based on charter flights to get people and goods in one of the country.
Before Ethiopian airlines, Turkish Airlines was the only other international carrier that touched the route.
