Samsung opens its largest retail store within Africa in Nairobi

Samsung Electronics has opened a new interactive store at Two Rivers Mall in Nairobi, giving 29, the total number of Samsung Experience Stores across the country. The store is also the largest Samsung Experience Store in Africa and will offer new and existing customers an in-depth tour of the company's mobile and consumer electronics product portfolio.

Sung Yoon, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Africa said the opening of the new store was in line with the company's strategy to redirect its business in Africa to increase the efficiency of sales and marketing features focusing on consumer experience.

"We are still committed to delivering quality products and technical solutions to our consumers in an accessible manner. Customers have expectations and demands from our brand and the opening of such experience stores will provide our consumers with a converged experience from both our consumer electronics and mobile divisions, he says.

The store will hire consumer electronics and mobile products as well as a service center for both product groups.

Charles Kimari, head of the Mobile Division, said the need for a second store at the mall was necessary by consumer trends from the first store opened in March last year. "Our first experience store at Two Rivers Mall has been an average of 400 customers a week, both for sale and service-related requests. This new store enables us to increase our product portfolio and offer dedicated and exceptional services to our customers."

The design of the store allows consumers to interact with a number of Samsung devices that can converge to enhance personal user experience and B2B business solutions. To go consumers through this experience is a staff of 12 sellers and 12 service staff.

For an inclusive Samsung Electronics experience, the store has various sections that include a mobile zone that will showcase smartphones, tablets, accessories, and give customers the opportunity to try some of these products in the game center, the home appliance area showing washing machines, refrigerators, microwaves and others, The TV zone shows the QLED TV series's greatness, service center and an open house area where customers can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Due to the location of the mall, Samsung says that it will be able to get a larger presentation of some of its flagship products including the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note9 smartphones and QLED TV 2018 recently introduced on the market.

Other Samsung stores in the country are located in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Meru, Nakuru, Thika and Kitengela. Three of these stores are specific for consumer electronics products, while 26 are specific for mobile products.
