Barcelona player, Turan could face 12 years in prison over "alleged brawls with pop star"

Barcelona footballer Arda Turan could be sentenced to 12 years imprisonment following a supposed brawl with a pop star.

The midfielder, who is on loan to İstanbul Basaksehir, had to contradict reports that he attacked Berkay Sahin in a row over the singer's wife.

Turan, 31, was reported to have come to the hospital with a gun and said to Berkay, "I did not know she was your wife, sorry, just kill me."

A Turkish TV station published footage showing the aftermath of the incident during a night in Istanbul.

In the video, Turan is seen coming out of the club while the close combat continues outside.

The footage also shows Turan coming to the hospital and talking to someone before throwing an object on the table.

Today it turned out that the football star could be in jail for up to 12 years.

He was questioned last Thursday by the police about the alleged incident in Istanbul.

Turan was asked to testify after police received reports of the player's alleged clash with singer Berkay Sahin.

Turan dismissed allegations that he harassed Sahin and shot a bullet from his gun when he later went to the hospital where Sahin was being treated for an injury was accidentally fired when he put the gun in his waist.

However, local media claims the police are chasing him about the incident.

He is said to have lost his way with Berkay in a nightclub in Istanbul's upscale Emirgan neighborhood.

The Turkish newspaper Haberturk reported that the couple clashed after Turan made provocative remarks to the singer's wife, Ozlem Ada Sahin.

It was alleged that Berkay had sent his wife home so he could speak with Turan "man to man".

The Turkish international should then beat Berkay and have broken his nose.

Berkay was reportedly hospitalized.

Turan reportedly followed Berkay to the hospital, presented him with a gun, and told him, "I did not know she was your wife.

"I'm sorry, just kill me".

But the midfielder, who was told that he can leave Barcelona permanently, has deleted the report and insisted that Berkay's wife was not involved.
Turan, who was loaned to Istanbul Basaksehir in January, is not a controversy.

He was fined £ 7,000 in May and suspended for 16 goals in record bouts for attacking an assistant referee during a Turkish Super League match.

The year before, he was dismissed by the then Turkish national coach
Fatih Terim after verbally and physically attacking a Turkish sports journalist on a flight to a match.
