Serena Goes Topless For Breast Cancer Awareness

Tennis superstar Serena Williams caused a sense of internet on Sunday, setting topless for a video while singing "I Touch Myself" to sensitize breast cancer.

In the Instagram video, Williams covers her breasts with her hands while sanging a version of The Australian band The Divinyls' 1991 hit to support Breast Cancer Network Australia.

"This Breast Cancer Awareness Month I've recorded a version of The Divinyls Worldwide I Touch Myself to remind women to regularly check themselves," Williams wrote.

"Yes, that puts me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it's an issue that affects all women of all colors around the world. Early detection is the key - saves so many lives."

The song was written by Australian singer Divinyls Chrissy Amphlett, who died of breast cancer five years ago, aged 53 years.

"The music video is part of the I Touch Myself project, created in honor of the famous diva Chrissy Amphlett, who died of breast cancer and gave us her song to remind women to put their health first." 23-year-old Grand Slam champion.

The video was screened more than 1.3 million times in the first 10 hours after it was released early on Sunday with supporters taking pride in the tennis superstar for its bravery in performing the song.
