Naomi Osaka of Japan won the US Open after defeating Serena Williams of the United States.

Osaka became the first Japanese woman to win a Grand Slam title when her idol, Serena Williams, imploded in the face of a code violation by the chair umpire on Saturday.

Osaka, 20, triumphed with a score of 6-2, 6-4 in the match scored by Williams 'second attack, the American furious at referee Carlos Ramos' warning for being coached by his team .

She accused him of being a "thief" and demanded an apology from the official.

Serena Williams' bid for a 24th Grand Slam title imploded in a furious tirade against referee Carlos Ramos and called him a thief after offering him a point for two code violations.

His momentum then inflicted a match penalty, which resulted in a new outbreak of tournament officials and Naomi Osaka placed the win in a match.
