Elections Will Not Affect 2019 UTME – JAMB

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, said that the 2019 general election would not affect the board's 2019/2020 exam.

He made this remark while answering questions from journalists shortly after the presentation of the 2018 annual Sobo Sowemimo lecture of the Abeokuta Club in Abeokuta.

Oloyede said that because the Independent National Election Commission had given the dates of the elections, the board should only adjust accordingly.

"I do not think there will be a change in the exam date due to the 2019 general election. I believe INEC did well by giving us a warning six months ago.

"They gave us the date of the election, so we have no excuse for not being adjusted, we've adjusted," he said.
