Adeosun In Office Despite Reported Resignation

Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun remained in office today amid reports of his resignation.

There was anxiety in the ministry when journalists squeezed in to confirm the authenticity of the alleged resignation.

At approximately 12 noon, journalists began entering the ministry to confirm the story, but all the minister's staff was seen around his office doing their homework saying that "another round of false news" was circulating.

To show that he was in his office and still in his seat working, his staff did not prevent any journalist from reaching the seventh floor where the minister's office is located.

Although her media aides did not register to speak with the press, they allowed the journalists to see the Minister's car to confirm that she was in the seat and they have not resigned.

The confusion over his alleged resignation was further compounded by his absence at the Meeting of the Convergence Council of Ministers and Governors of the Central Bank of the Monetary Zone of West Africa, where he was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mahmood Isa Dutse.

It was alleged that Kemi Adeosun had resigned under pressure for disputes surrounding his NYSC certificate, but there was as yet no confirmation as at the time of this report.
