1.38m Pvcs Yet To Be Collected In Lagos

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State said Thursday that some 1.38 million permanent voter cards (PVC) have still not been collected in the state.

Mr. Sam Olumekun, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Lagos State, gave the figure in an interview in Lagos. "We still have about 1.38 million PVCs not collected as we speak. Only about 15% of the new 2017 registrants whose cards were produced came for their cards. It's very poor.

"We have also added nearly 750,000 new registrants, whose cards will still be produced and distributed. "Of course, those who were newly printed for those who registered in 2017, people come to pick them up more than those who have been there since the 2011 elections," he said. The commissioner urged eligible voters whose cards had been produced to visit the offices of the CENI located in the 20 local government areas of the state.
