Abandoned 6-Month-Old Baby found In Anambra Forest

A six-month-old baby was rescued on Saturday from Idemili Forest in the local government area of ​​Idemili in Anambra State.

The baby, abandoned in the forest, was picked up around 6 am by a village of Duff Ibanga of Umuota in the community.

The rescuer said that the baby's cries caught his attention as he passed through the area, adding that after picking up the baby, he quickly reported the case to the police.

"The baby is now with the police, I wanted to take him to a church but then I changed my mind to avoid problems," he said.

State police spokesman Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

He said the baby was given to a motherless baby to keep him safe.

Mohammed added: "Around 6:00 am, a man from Duff Ibanga from Umuota Obosi village brought a six-month-old baby to Obosi Division who was reportedly abandoned in a bush along Idemili Junction Road in Obosi.

"The scene was visited by police detectives attached to the division's Juvenile and Social Protection Section and the case is under investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and efforts are under way to recover the situation. baby's biological mother. "

Mohammed urged members of the public with useful information that could help find the child's parents so that they could report to the Obosi Police Division.
