Photos Of President Of France, Emmanuel Macron Inside Fela's Afrika Shrine

 Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, has visited the emblematic Afrika Sanctuary of Fela Anikulapo Kuti in Ikeja Lagos.


The president arrived at the nightclub in a casual white shirt, sleeves rolled up and was seen on the balcony, recognizing the applause of a large crowd of actors, actresses and Nollywood entertainers.

Macron after his talks with the Nigerian leader, Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, went to Lagos.

He arrived at the Presidential Hall of Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) at exactly 9:05 p.m. Tuesday afternoon

The governor of the state of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, also arrived at the hall at exactly 8:10 p.m. to receive the French president.

Also on land to receive Macron were the top echelons of the Nigerian Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Nigerian Customs Service and the Nigerian Immigration Service.



He left the airport in a long convoy around 9.30 p.m. for the visit to the Afrika Sanctuary of the late musician Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

The president of France is also expected to open the headquarters of Alliance Francaise, a French Language and Culture Center in Ikoyi on 4 July.

Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama told reporters in Abuja that the visit would improve ties and trade relations between France and Nigeria.

He added that it would also be the first formal meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the French president since the assumption of the office.
