I'm Not Afraid Of EFCC, I Won't Run Away From Nigeria - Fayose

Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose says he is not afraid of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and will not flee the country after his term expires, according to a report by Premium Times.

Fayose spokesman Lere Olayinka told reporters.

"He's not afraid of anything, what are they going to do to him, is the EFCC the court of law?" Asked Fayose's spokesperson.

The EFCC had tweeted Sunday to Fayose when he will hand over power in October to answer questions about the $ 1.3 billion fraud allegations.

Fayose, of the Democratic People's Party (PDP), is expected to hand over power to Kayode Fayemi, who won the governorship poll Saturday in Ekiti after defeating Professor Kolapo Olusola-Eleka of the PDP.

The state was APC until 2014, when Fayemi, then governor from 2010 to 2014, lost his first re-election bid to Fayose.

Fayose won the June 2014 election in a landslide, defeating Fayemi in the state's 16 local government areas.
