Baby Buried Alive For Nine Hours Survives

A baby who was buried living in an isolated forest for nine hours was found alive after a "miracle" rescue operation.

The five-month-old was found face-down in a stained baby pushed under piles of sticks and debris.

Authorities described the baby's discovery in Missoula County, America, as a "miracle".

The police were first called at 8 pm on Saturday for reports of a man acting suspiciously and making threats with a gun in the Lolo Hot Springs area.

As the police arrived at the scene, a 32-year-old man, Francis Carlton Crowley, had left the area, with reports he had already seen with a small baby who had now disappeared.

Crowley was found later before admitting to having buried the baby somewhere in the woods.

A desperate search for the child was immediately launched by the police, members of Missoula County's search and rescue team, Highway Patrol and the United States Forest Service.

After six painful hours in the woods, an officer reported hearing the slight cries of a child before discovering the baby buried at 2.30am.

A police statement posted on Facebook indicates that the child was "in the woods unattended and in the cold for at least nine hours".

The child was taken to a local hospital with minor scrapes and bruises, but is said to be in good condition.
