“I’m a son of God, not man of God” – King Sunny Ade addresses his relationship with God

September 30, 2013 1 Comments

Music Legend, King Sunny Ade says he sees himself as a son of God and not a man of God as most people think he is!

In a recent interview with TRIBUNE, he said “You can’t just call yourself a man of God. There must be a very strong covenant between you and God before you can claim that you are a man of God. I don’t see myself like that, but if people call me a man of God, it means I have to be very careful because I have not heard from God. All I know is that I am a son of God, not yet a man of God.

COZA experiences mass reduction in attendance of worshippers

September 30, 2013 0 Comments

Smite the shepherd and the sheep will flee”. This biblical injunction vividly captures the ongoing scenario at the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA.
The name COZA became a ‘street anthem’ a few months back following a shocking confession by one Ese Walter, an ex-member of the church of her week-long sexual escapade with the senior pastor of the church, Abiodun Fatoyinbo. However, since then, the pastor has neither come out to refute or accept the allegation, but claimed that he was still waiting for God’s order.

"I have Always wanted to be a Reverend sister" -BBA`s Beverly Osu

September 22, 2013 1 Comments

Beverly Osu who represented Nigeria in the just
concluded Big Brother Africa 2013, has became
one of the most talked-about housemate has
now revealed that being controversial has never
been her goal.
In a recent interview in Abuja, she talks about
life before the house and what her future plans
her.
Life before Big Brother
Before Big Brother, I was into entertainment.
Big Brother Africa was just a platform for me to
do what I wanted to do. Before now, I wanted to
be an actress, I wanted to be a reverend sister,
but things did not just work out the way I
planned it.
Being a controversial housemate
Going to the house, I didn't have any plan or
strategy. I just went in there. While in the house,
I used to be blunt every time, it used to be me
living my normal life. The controversial side, I
don't know because I used to be a very sweet
person.
On how she was never up for eviction
I didn't do anything. I know that people picked
my name but I wasn't bothered because I also
got to pick one or two people. I knew when
Natasha or anybody else picked me for eviction
but I understood it was just a game. However, I
was generally liked in the house because I'm a
people's person.
On her relationship with Angelo
Me and Angelo were so business minded people,
we think alike, we do a lot of things together.
We have projects we are working on together
so, it was much like we went to BBA as
individuals but we didn't come there to mark
time. And now, we have a platform we have to
use. Now, he is in his country but when there is
something to do, we will go together. It is not
that we won't have our time but it's more of the
business because we all came for something in
our lives and since we have gotten the
opportunity, we should use it right.
Her future plans
School, my career-acting, so many things in next
year let me feel I'm not sure what to say next.

Mercy Aigbe Says She Can Buy A N5m HandBag If She Likes It

September 22, 2013 0 Comments

Lol See the question and her answer below;

Can you buy a handbag for N5m?

I don't know. I cannot say the amount I can
spend on an item. I love fashion. One thing
about fashion is that when you see something
you like, if you don't buy it, you'll not have peace
of mind till you get it, no matter the cost. That is
the kind of person I am, and that is why I cannot
say how much I can spend on an item. Most
times when I see things I like and I have the
money, I buy. I am working hard and making my
money. If it makes me happy, why not get it? We
only have a life to live. At the same time, I also
know that there are people that I can reach out
to and put a smile on their faces. So what I do is
find a way to balance both.

September 20, 2013 0 Comments

Health officers have arrested some kpomo
sellers in Sapele, Delta State (See picture above).
They confessed to injecting embalming fluids in
the kpomo and soaking it in water to fatten it.
This obviously preserves it and makes it more
attractive to unsuspecting members of the
public who love to eat kpomo (cow-hide). It's
no small wonder that kidney failure, cancers
and all sorts of diseases abound.

The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer
Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, on
Thursday stated that his controversial views on

he held last week with Major Hamza Al-

Uwazuruike in Owerri, the Imo State

Hawaiian Woman Told To Shorten Name That's Too Long For Driving Licence

September 19, 2013 1 Comments

A Hawaiian woman has been left outraged
after state officials asked her to cut down her
36-letter surname – because it wouldn't fit on
the ID card.
Furious Janice Lokelani
Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele
claims the state has been 'disrespectful'
towards her Hawaiian heritage after being
reissued an ID card with only 35 letters in her
surname.
Her name is so long that the driving licence in
question does not even include her first name
and middle names at all.
Mrs Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele,
who has had to carry two ID cards for the past
20 years, said that the action of missing off one
letter was 'disrespectful of the Hawaiian
people'.
'The county has never accommodated my
name on my driver's license,' she told
Honolulu television station KHON2.
She said the new ID has created a number of
problems for her, including not being able to
travel and being questioned by police during
traffic.
'He looked at it and he goes, "Well, where is
your first name?" And I said, "Don't blame me.
This is your department, this is the county".'
Mrs Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele
said that she has been told by the country to
take her maiden name or shorten her last
name. But she wants to keep the name as a
tribute to her late husband.
After the TV station that originally reported
the story pressured the local Department of
Transport on the issue, officials said they will
extend ID cards to a 40-character limit.

Spain-Based Nigerian Caught With Cocaine (PHOTO)

September 19, 2013 0 Comments

The Nigerian by the name Francis Bawaba who
live in Madrid, Spain, was caught by the NDLEA
at the MMA, Lagos with 6.490kg of high grade
Brazilian cocaine worth the sum of N72 million.
The 364 wraps of cocaine, already prepared for
injection and hidden inside his hand luggage
were discovered during the inward screening of
passengers on an Etihad flight and he was en-
route to earn N3.3 million.
He said: "This is my first time of smuggling drugs
and I was lured with an offer of 3.3 million naira.
I used to work in construction sites in Madrid to
earn a living but it has been
difficult securing a job since the global economic
melt-down. I collected the drug while on transit
at Abudabi on my way from Milan. I never knew
that I will be caught here in Nigeria. My plan was
to invest the 3.3 million naira in business. Since
my arrest I have been unable to eat because I do
not know how my pregnant wife and two kids
will cope without my financial support"
According to the suspect, Francis Bawaba, who
hailed from Imo State, his concern is how his
pregnant wife and two children will cope in his
absence.
As the NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport,
Mr. Hamza Umar explained, "Our investigation
has revealed that the suspect took off from
Malpensa, Milan and collected the drug while on
transit at Abudabi. He had given us very useful
information that we are already working on"
The Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA,
Ahmadu Giade assured culprits of maximum
penalty for drug trafficking offences. Giade
stated: "The essence of punishment is to correct
the offender and deter people from indulging in
a crime. Drug trafficking demands stiffer
punishment to serve as deterrence because of
the high profit it generates. The Agency will
continue to ensure that the appropriate
punishment is enforced at all times.
Stakeholders in the criminal justice system must
understand that stringent punishment is crucial
to a sustainable victory in the anti-narcotic
campaign"

religious scholars and devout Muslims, a panel
of judges picked Obabiyi Aishah Ajibola from

ago after losing her job as a TV news anchor for
refusing to remove her headscarf, bills the
contest as "Islam's answer to Miss World".
"This year we deliberately held our event just
before the Miss World final to show that there
are alternative role models for Muslim women,"
she told AFP.
Aisha received 25 million rupiah ($2,200) and
